Kat Toriez was born into an Irish Catholic family in 1949.
Growing up in the coal mining town of Ipswich Queensland, Australia, she lived a relatively quiet young life with her Father, sister and Grandmother.
From an early age Kat listened to and loved music, so much so, she went on to achieve excellent results in the world of ballet.
Surrounded by books when she was quite young, she discovered a passion for reading and words and became well versed in poetry, having gained certificates in The Art of Speech through Trinity College.
Kat learned to be an accomplished seamstress, amongst other skills, but it is her love of writing, where she shares her most gifted talent.
Her clever visual images that she stores in her mind become presentations in words.
Kat’s first books of poetry, Treasures of Love and Treasures of Nature were introduced in early 2021. Followed by a more in depth, Treasures of Life.
These poetry pieces reflect her true love of nature and the beauty of the ocean. The intricate way that her life has evolved, has given her many moments to share with avid writers.
Her first novel, Secretive Threads, was released in October, 2021.
Kat Toriez currently resides on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
